What is “Lectionary to Go”?

Lectionary to Go wants to create movement within the church that embraces the texts read on Sunday throughout the week. We don’t think God’s word only sits in a pew, but that it goes out into the world and gets applied and understood better piece by piece as we’re living life.

But what is a “lectionary”, you might ask? A lectionary is simply, a list of Scriptural readings that are read by a religious community, like a church or a synagogue. The first evidence that we have of a lectionary system is from the time of the Hebrew exile in Babylon. Since then, Christian churches have picked up the practice of using a lectionary as a way to form God’s people by the reading of God’s word.

Lectionary to Go is a ministry of University Lutheran – Tallahassee, FL, a church and campus ministry center. We use the lectionary throughout the church year.
